Senior-Level PHP Developer

ThomasARTS (TA), an award winning national digital marketing agency with clients in the finance healthcare, insurance, and eCommerce space is seeking a senior level PHP/full stack developer/team lead in our Utah office. We are seeking someone with the ability to clearly communicate, plan, and deliver on web projects. You will work with various internal teams including: CX, UX, strategy, design, data, media and account management. You will also be expected to communicate and present to clients, as needed.

We’re looking for a leader to take ownership on projects and work with our existing teams to produce top-level sites. Our team is primarily focused on PHP. We prefer Wordpress, Symfony, and Laravel frameworks. You will need to have a strong comfort level working in all of the aforementioned frameworks, although it is not immediately expected that you have expertise in all frameworks. We will allow for time to get up to speed on secondary platforms, assuming an advanced understanding of PHP specifically.

Required Skills Include:


  • PHP, MySQL, Javascript, HTML at a proficient level a must - strong working knowledge of all of the aforementioned programming languages and frameworks (HTML expertise a nice to have, assuming strong working knowledge)·
  • Ability to quickly access and apply speed optimizations to sites.
  • Working experience with GIT, Docker, Bootstrap a must
  • Familiarity with Jira, Teamwork (and other project management tools)
  • As many of our clients are in the healthcare and finance industries, we require an understanding and adherence to WCAG accessibility standards as well as HIPPA and PII/PHI standards.
  • Other duties as assigned 

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Quickly analyze and solve technical web problems.
  • Install and configure CMS and ecommerce platforms for new clients.
  • Integrate HTML with CMS
  • Implement and develop e-commerce and CMS customizations and integrations as per project requirements.
  • Collaborate with teams, both internal and client-facing
  • Gather and understand client requirements.
  • Unit test and take accountability for the quality of your work.
  • Estimate effort required to implement changes and enhancements.

Candidates must have high intelligence, be easy-going, focused, and organized. This position requires a strong personality that can easily juggle multiple projects at once, while also communicating with internal/external clients as to various project progress at any point in time. This is a fast-paced, high-energy environment where day-to-day work can be difficult to predict. If this does not sound like a challenge that excites you, then this position is not for you. Excellent communication skills are required, as is an ability to learn quickly. Candidates must be willing to work out of the ThomasARTS Utah location.
